Table PhotoWe are happy to offer three FREE Community Classes to celebrate our one year anniversary. Jo Kirsch, E-RYT500, is teaching a FREE Yin Yoga class from 7:30 – 8:30pm on Monday, October 27th. “Yin Yoga uses gentle long held postures practiced with an attitude of compassionate acceptance to awaken the more Yin parts of our physical, emotional and spiritual selves. By promoting the flow of energy (Qi) through the energy channels (meridians) of our deep Yin core we can help bring health to our bodies and balance to our busy Yang style lives,” writes Master Teacher Biff Mithoefer.  Inspired by  Biff Mithoefer’s teachings, Jo Kirsch will weave poetry, gentle music and silence to create a space for participants to sink deeply into the simple, long held Yin postures, in this free community class.

Alexandra Langstaff is teaching a FREE Modern Dance class, 5:00 – 6:00pm, Thursday, October 30th. “A great dance class to me is one that introduces a way of moving to a piece of music that is very different from the way I would naturally move.” said Alexandra Langstaff. “It’s challenging, and at times frustrating, however the excitement I feel when my brain and body work together is like nothing else. I know I will never be a superstar but a good dance class makes me feel like one! That’s what I want for my students. I love to laugh and dance allows me to laugh at myself at the same time. Being quite lazy, it is a fantastic way to trick myself into getting some exercise!”  This class is ideal way for the new-to-dance as well as for those who have been away for awhile.

Meghann Cancio-Bello is teaching a FREE Gentle/Restorative Yoga class, 4:15-5:30, Friday, October 31st. Ease your body through a series of standing, seated, reclining, and restorative poses designed to gently build strength while calming the mind and nourishing the spirit. Cultivate relaxation, develop flexibility, improve balance, and dissolve stress and tension. This class is appropriate for all levels, and for those looking for a gentle way to explore breathing, flexibility and range of motion.

Space is limited in above classes. To register call 802.379.4514, email, or visit www.heartofvillageyoga.com/events.

Finally, in celebration and as a thank you to our patrons, the studio is offering 15% off mats, mat bags, props, tee-shirts, yoga pants, and jewelry,  October 26th to November 2nd. Also available through November 2nd is a limited anniversary edition Patagonia Better Sweater Vest with the Heart of the Village Yoga embroidered logo for $99. Come in and celebrate with us!
