Tyler, who competed in the giant slalom ski event in the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, will share his experiences as a young athlete competing in adaptive sports, the gift of being different, and the value of following one’s dreams.
Tyler was born without a fibula and had his right leg amputated as a baby. He lives life accepting his own limitations while breaking through the common barriers placed before him. Skiing provides him a pathway for self-expression and independence. Making the most of his situation, Tyler has competed at the highest level. He also spends much of his free time mentoring and inspiring other young people with disabilities.
TC has come to Manchester to study yoga as a means to improve performance while also learning another practice to help others. He currently mentors young people around the country as a mentor with “Classroom Champions,” a program that inspires young people from under-served areas to learn healthy living habits.
Silent auction items feature Vermont healthy active experiences such as a SUP (standup paddling) Adventure for 4, 2 Gift Certificates to make a glass paperweight at Manchester Hot Glass, Private Yoga Sessions, Four-Some Round of Golf with cart at Stratton Golf Course, Dinner for Two at Depot 62, Four Any Day Lift Tickets, and more.
