Meet Beryl Bender Birch

Breathing in I calm my body. Breathing out I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Founder and director of The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute and the Give Back Yoga Foundation (GBYF), Beryl has been studying and teaching yoga and meditation for over 40 years. Click here to read about Beryl in Yoga Journal’s 40th Anniversary Issue.

154660_556899950990761_1412884844_nBeryl will be at Heart of the Village Yoga 10:30am – 2pm, Saturday, August 22nd for a Yoga and Meditation Workshop.

This is a rare opportunity to spend a day with our teacher, mentor and friend, Beryl Bender Birch. She is the director of our Yoga Teacher Training and a national teacher who has inspired thousands to practice yoga.

The morning will begin with sweaty, detoxifying asana (yoga) practice, followed by a picnic lunch break on the lawn, and finishing with an afternoon of spirited discussion and restful meditation. Move, breathe, and laugh with your friends and teacher. Bring your own picnic lunch, and a beach towel! All levels are welcome, but be prepared to stretch, breathe, move and have a lot of fun! Beryl is a master teacher who can invite you all to have an amazing practice, no judgement, no competition, do what you can and enjoy it all!

Beryl is the author of four books on yoga, including the best selling Power Yoga, and and her most recent book, just released by Sounds True Publishing, Yoga for Warriors. She has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 40 years.
