Practice Inner Peace for Outer Peace

Practice Inner Peace for Outer Peace

Breathing in I calm my body. Breathing out I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Join us for a free Community Yoga Class for all levels, 6:00 – 7:15pm, Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Maple Street Gym in Manchester Center.

Come breathe together, move together, chant together, and raise the vibe in our southern Vermont Community together! Remember how the Women’s March on January 21 made you feel part of something beautiful and powerful? Join us for a Slow Flow Yoga class with Laurae Coburn, Jo Kirsch and Bob Speck, and celebrate peace, joy, loving-kindness and compassion… and a sense that together we are indeed beautiful and powerful.

“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

IMG_4522Every breath is a new beginning. These past few months have been particularly stressful for many of us. “I just feel so down. I feel the most hopeful when I’m with a group of people practicing yoga together. Then a sense of calm, a sense that ‘everything is okay,’ comes over me,” said Barbara Morrow. “Let’s get the community together to practice yoga in a peaceful celebration of life.”

Roll out a yoga mat and do some sun salutations with us! Breathing together, we will dedicate this class to peace, justice, and fairness, and to a diverse nation of people and communities who learn to thrive together without succumbing to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness born from fear and anger. It is our intention to promote positivity and the power of peaceful citizen action, while expressing our support of democratic legislation and policies which advance human rights and dignity, including: women’s rights; immigration reform; healthcare reform; natural environment sustainability; LGBTQ rights; racial equality; freedom of religion; and workers’ rights.

All ages welcome. No experience? No worries. Have difficulty getting up and down from the floor? You can practice in a chair. Bring-Your-Own-Yoga Mat!

Spread the word. Just come and breathe with us. “Breathing in I calm my body. Breathing out I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment.” – Thich Nhat Hahn.
