Breathing in I calm my body. Breathing out I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment.

March is brain injury awareness month, and Heart of the Village Yoga is participating by hosting a #MindfulMarch event on Friday, March 24 to support the non-profit LoveYourBrain. Every dollar raised at this event will help sustain and grow LoveYourBrain’s yoga and meditation program, offered to traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors and their caregivers for free.
Two donation-based yoga classes will be offered: a Power Hour from 5-6pm, and a Yin Yoga class from 6-7pm. Following these classes from 7:15-7:30pm, a survivor of Traumatic Brain Injury who has attended the LoveYourBrain yoga and meditation FUNdamental series at Heart of the Village Yoga will share her perspective on the impact of the program. At 7:30pm, The Crash Reel film (1hr 48mins) will be screened at the studio, featuring the backstory on the creation of LoveYourBrain. “The dramatic story of one unforgettable athlete, Kevin Pearce; one eye-popping sport, snowboarding; and one explosive issue, Traumatic Brain Injury. A comeback story with a difference.”
All are welcome to join for any or all parts of the evening. Suggested donation: $10-20 per class; $10-20 movie; $20-30 for both classes and the movie.
Know anyone suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury? Heart of the Village Yoga will be hosting a 6-Week FUNdamental Yoga Series for individuals with T.B.I. next month. Please visit loveyourbrain.com/yoga/ to learn how yoga can help.
