Meet Zoe Anderson

Zoe Anderson has pursued her lifelong passion for all things athletic, originally incorporating yoga as an alternative to warm-ups and stretching. Moving from New York to Vermont, and attending a Heart of the Village aerial yoga class, the concept of body and spirit integration opened the door to more inspiring wellness practices. It wasn’t long before aerial yoga, ashtanga power-yoga flow, yoga philosophy, and functional strength training became her weekly go-to practice. Zoe focuses her practice on core awareness, strength, total body wellness and recognizing the importance of moving from a strong, centered core. Zoe recently completed 500 Hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Heart of the Village Yoga. In 2021, She obtained her certification as a Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC), a cutting-edge functional strength training program utilized by personal coaches at Heart of the Village Yoga. When not at the studio, Zoe can be found at another studio as

Meet Dina Bronson

Dina Bronson, RYT 500® is the owner of Dina’s Bakery and Cafe in Manchester. We are fortunate to have her teach Foundations of Yoga, 6 p.m. Monday evenings. Yoga Foundations is a wonderful class for everyone. Dina breaks down the poses and articulates the correct alignment and position for each pose. This class is appropriate for beginners, as well as those with an established practice. Our evening classes are usually small so you receive lots of personal instruction. Come on in and give it a try! Following is a Q&A designed to allow you to get to know a little more about Dina. Q: How old were you when you started practicing yoga? A: I “dabbled” in yoga in my 20’s but didn’t start a true practice til my 40’s. Q: Why did you start practicing yoga? A: I’ve lived with chronic depression since my 20’s and started yoga as

Meet Charlotte Alexander

Charlotte is teaching our Wednesday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Slow Flow Yoga class this summer. “This is the perfect time to slow down and enjoy every moment of summer. Come to the mat to breathe deeply with me, find your focus, and release tension. I infuse each class with themes and intentions like contentment, ease, or joy. You might hear about a broken dryer, the smell of ferns, my love of Mr. Rogers, or a lesson in the Sanskrit word asana. Bring your smile, hiker’s muscles, busy brain, working hands, and have fun with me! Getting to know Charlotte: “For the past ten years I’ve grown up by the Green Mountains of Vermont. I love hiking the long trail, backpacking, fly fishing, kayaking, hammocking, knitting, writing, traveling and of course, practicing yoga. Yoga has enriched each part of my life and built me into the passionate teacher I am today.

Yoga Designed for Brain Longevity

by  Barb Lowes Have you ever experienced brain fog? We think it comes from living busy lives and/or aging. We tend to think it’s inevitable, but, in reality, it is not. Research has proven that yoga and meditation help to reduce stress (a leading issue for memory loss) and improve mental focus and clarity. Beginning June 7, I will be teaching “Yoga Designed for Brain Longevity” – a new weekly class offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday. The mission of this new class is to help prevent memory related diseases and help individuals live a high quality of life through yoga, reiki and meditation. Yes, you can affect the health of your brain when you choose to educate yourself with proper prevention strategies.  Each week, we will study different parts of the Four Pillars of Brain Longevity and then practice slow flow yoga. This style of  practice promotes peace and
